Senior Students Chosen to Represent University as Mr. and Miss FHU

After a vote by the student body, Freed-Hardeman University announced the winners of Mr. and Miss FHU 2024 during a special chapel presentation held Thursday, April 25. Will Rawson, from Alamo, Tennessee, was named Mr. FHU, while Anniston McCall, from Winter Garden, Florida, was named Miss FHU.

“Since 1940, our school’s faculty, staff and student body have seen fit to honor those students who embody the qualities and ideas embedded within the mission of our school,” Director of Alumni Engagement Chris Ramey said. “These individuals have been selected because of their influence, involvement, leadership and academic ability.”

Mr. FHU, Will Rawson, is the son of Bobby and Wendy Rawson and is a fourth-generation Freed-Hardeman student majoring in kinesiology, health and human performance. During his time at FHU, he was involved with the Phi Kappa Alpha social club as sports captain, vice president and Makin’ Music club show director. His future plans are to marry his fiancé, FHU alumna Morgan Perkins, and move to Nashville where he will teach and be involved in the local work of the Lord’s church.

“I appreciate that FHU offers a university that not only allows me to grow in my academics but also as a Christian,” Rawson said of his time at Freed-Hardeman. “I am able to live in a dorm with 50 of my closest friends who are striving everyday to make each other better Christians. It is where I met my soon-to-be wife. You also have so many opportunities to lead here that you wouldn’t have at other universities, and it has made me who I am today.”

Miss FHU, Anniston McCall, is the daughter of John and Holly McCall and is a third-generation Freed-Hardeman student majoring in photography and graphic design with a minor in art. She was a member of the Phi Kappa Alpha social club and was a Makin’ Music club show director for two years. Her plans for the future are to move back to Florida to work as a photographer and as a Walt Disney World production assistant.

“I appreciate how much the faculty loves and cares for you and truly wants to see you succeed,” McCall shared. Concerning what she will miss the most about FHU, she said, “I will miss living with all of my best friends in the same building, especially Tuesday night devos with Phi Kappa girls.”

Other nominees for the role of Mr. FHU were Caleb Bond, of Harvest, Alabama; Jesse Eaton, of Vienna, West Virginia; and Carlos Diaz, of Orlando, Florida. Additional nominees for Miss FHU were Kaitlyn Moore, of Henderson, Tennessee; Julie Gann, of Huntsville, Alabama; and Macie Lemmons, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee.
